ATTORNEY PROFILES

 

Joseph J. Barmettler (jbarmettler@fitzlaw.com) has been practicing with the firm for 49 years and holds degrees in business (accounting major) and law from Creighton University, where he was a member of the accounting and the all university scholastic honor societies. Joe practices extensively in the areas of corporate, real estate and public institutions and is listed in Best Lawyers in America in the field of corporate law, and in Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in Business and Industry. In 2006, he was inducted into the Omaha Real Estate Hall of Fame.  He is counsel for a number of public bodies and business entities. Joe is serving his sixth elected four-year term as a member of the House of Delegates which is the Governing Body of the Nebraska State Bar Association, is a past-Chairman of the Association's Ways, Means and Planning Committee, and is a member of its Governmental Law, Business Law and Real Estate Law Sections. Joe is also a Fellow of the Nebraska State Bar Foundation, a member of the American Judicature Society and the Omaha Bar Association.
